Doug Lindores is the owner-operator of Slivers Charters Salmon Sport Fishing has been guiding in the Port Alberni Barkley Sound area for over 25 years. Doug started his guiding company 17 years ago. Prior to that he fished for other guide outfits. Doug originally from Abbotsford B.C. is an high school Physical Education teacher. He is head coach of the Alberni Armada Cross Country and Track and Field Teams. Doug has also coached basketball for 26 of his 33 years of teaching and is also a high school and senior men's basketball official. Doug is currently the coordinator and a coach of the high school ice hockey program. Doug also plays ice hockey.
Malcolm (Mel) Coffill Mel has fished with Slivers Charters Salmon Sport Fishing for 15 years. Mel is originally from Nova Scotia but has lived in Port Alberni many years. He is a retired paper mill worker. Mel has been guiding for 30 years. He at one time owned his own charter-guide operation. Mel is very reliable and is a great story teller on the boat. Everyone seems to love Mel when they fish with him. An avid gardner, after the fishing day Mel invites his party of clients over to his home where often the bagging and cleaning of fish takes place. He sends the people home not only with a tub of fish but also some excellent organic veggies and a beautiful bag of tomatoes.
John McDonald has been guiding for Slivers Charters Salmon Sport Fishing for ten years. He is a native of Port Alberni and has fished the waters of the Port Alberni Inlet and Barkley Sound for thirty years. John is very familiar with the waters and is an excellent salmon fisherman. John is also a teacher-counselor and the local Port Alberni High School. He is head coach of the Alberni district Senior Secondary Wrestling Team. John plays hockey and softball for various Port Alberni teams.
Mike Marriott is a born and raised Ucluelet fisherman. Mike worked on commercial fish boats but has now been operating his fishing charter business for almost 15 years. Mike fishes offshore and of course know the waves like his backyard. Mike runs Sea_Ray and Gady Whie sport boats out of Ucluelet which are needed for the rough sometimes wild waters. All of Mikes boats are kept on his dock in the Ucluelet Harbor Mike now resides in Port Alberni for the winter months Has office and small home on west coast during the May to October fishing season
